We arrived in Lake Garda and it was very hot. None of us needed jumpers or trousers and we went wind surfing. It was very fun. We weren’t the only ones there. There were other kids there too. We were all attached to a rope and we practiced pulling up the sail. We had a teacher of course. Two boys got unattached, then I asked to come off so I could try it by myself. I fell in a few times then I got the hang of it just as the teacher said we needed to go on the boat back to the shore!

In Lake Garda, we met up with our very good friends who live in Germany – Sarah, Richie, Kai and Eva. We hadn’t seen them for 2 years. Kai and Eva go to school in Germany. Eva is going to come to Devon to do a term of school there after Christmas. They speak good English because Sarah is from Scotland.
We went for a bike ride. Sarah and our mum borrowed a bike. My mum said that she was in heaven because her seat was so comfortable but it didn’t have gears so it was quite hard when they went up hill! We hired mountain bikes and they had gears luckily. The bike ride was fun because there were special bike roads with no cars and they had lines painted like real roads. There were many cafes on the way and we felt proud as we cycled 30km (which is nearly 19 miles).
